HUTOX® Inj. Product
The injection product containing Botulinum Toxin Type A is produced by Huons BioPharma Co., Ltd., a leading pharmaceutical company from the Republic of Korea.

What is Botulinum Toxin Type A?
Botulinum Toxin Type A is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium “Clostridium botulinum.” It is one of several types of botulinum toxins, but Type A is the most commonly used in medical and cosmetic applications. When administered in controlled doses, it can temporarily inhibit muscle activity by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction.
Medical Uses

Cosmetic Treatments
Often known by brand names like Hutox®, it is used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles by relaxing the underlying muscles.
Medical Conditions
It is employed in treating various medical issues such as chronic migraines, muscle spasticity, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), overactive bladder, and certain eye muscle disorders like strabismus.
How It Works
Botulinum Toxin Type A binds to nerve endings at the neuromuscular junction, preventing the release of acetylcholine. This inhibition leads to a temporary relaxation of the targeted muscles or glands.
Safety and Considerations:
- Administration: It should only be administered by qualified healthcare professionals to minimize risks.
- Duration of Effect: The effects are temporary, typically lasting between three to six months, after which muscle activity gradually returns.
- Side Effects: Possible side effects include pain at the injection site, headaches, or unintended muscle weakness. Severe adverse reactions are rare when used appropriately.

Regulation
Botulinum Toxin Type A is regulated by health authorities like the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) and is approved for specific medical uses.
Important Note
While it is a potent neurotoxin, its therapeutic use is considered safe when administered correctly. Always consult a healthcare provider for advice tailored to your medical needs.
